The luxury housing market in Spain has experienced unprecedented growth in recent years, especially in tourist and coastal areas such as the province of Alicante.
According to the report “The luxury housing market in Spain in 2024”, prepared by Fotocasa and INFINITUM, from 2019 to 2024 the supply of properties valued at more than 800,000 euros has increased by 150%. This increase reflects the growing interest of national and international buyers in acquiring exclusive properties in prime locations.
On the other hand, the average price of these properties has also increased. If in 2019 the average price of a luxury property in Spain was 1.56 million euros, in May 2024 this figure has risen to 1.99 million euros, an increase of 28%.
Although the supply of luxury homes is distributed throughout the country, the tourist areas have gained prominence over the large metropolitan areas such as Madrid and Barcelona. Thus, Alicante currently occupies second place in the national ranking of luxury homes, with 18.9% of the total supply. Furthermore, the average price of these properties in the province stands at 1.6 million euros.
Alicante’s privileged position in the luxury market is largely due to its attractiveness as an exclusive destination, combining dream beaches, pleasant climates and an ideal environment for those looking for a high-end home.
Within the province of Alicante, towns such as Moraira, Altea, Jávea, Denia and Calpe stand out as key points for the luxury market. It is in these municipalities where we can find the best luxury homes in Alicante.

Five years ago, the luxury housing landscape in Spain was very different. In 2019, Madrid and Barcelona were leading the country’s luxury housing supply with 22.7% and 20.8% respectively. However, the increase in demand in coastal and tourist areas has allowed provinces such as Alicante, Malaga and the Balearic Islands to climb up the rankings.
Currently, Malaga tops the list with 23.2% of the national supply and an average price of over 2.6 million euros. Alicante and the Balearic Islands complete the podium, reinforcing the trend that luxury is moving towards tourist areas and investment destinations.
Despite the growth experienced in luxury homes in Alicante, the existing supply is still insufficient to meet the current demand experienced in the area. In order to ensure that our clients find their ideal luxury property on the Costa Blanca, Hispania Homes has created a VIP list of luxury villas.
Those who form part of our VIP list will have preferential access to the property offer in the area, being notified before anyone else about the new luxury villas that are going to come on the market, even before these properties are published on any platform.
If you are interested in being part of this exclusive market, we invite you to join our VIP list of luxury properties in Moraira and the Costa Blanca. You will be the first to know about the new villas available so that you don’t miss any opportunity.
